This is a quick version of apple pie that you can make if you don’t want to use an oven.
Ingredients:
Crust:
2/3 cup flour
4 Tbs. chilled butter
Cold water
Apples:
4 apples
¼ tsp. cinnamon
3 Tbs. brown sugar
Pinch of salt
3 Tbs. butter
Using a pastry cutter, cut the butter into the flour until it is completely mixed.
Add cold water a little at a time and mix until a dough ball forms.
Roll out the crust or use floured hands to flatten small pieces. Use a frying pan to cook the rolled-out crust, flipping with a spatula and pressing down to ensure cooking. Set aside.
Peel apples if you like. Slice apples thinly (about 1 centimeter). Melt 3 Tbs. butter in frying pan and add apples. Fry until the apples are cooked.
Add brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt and fry for another minute.
Tear the cooked crust into about 1-inch pieces and add to apples.
Stir together if you wish or leave the crust on top.
Serve warm, straight from the stovetop. Serves 4.
